Director of Business Development

Shibusa designs and builds healthy, attainable, and sustainable homes, revolutionizing construction using a novel assembly process.

  • Developed, marketed, and sold seven floor plans to 59 verified prospects, taking projects through design, permitting, construction, and sale

  • Worked extensively on supplier material procurement, optimizing for on-site assembly; supervised, documented, and reported site progress to vendors, contractors, internal leadership, clients, and investors while maintaining affordability, quality, style and supply chain reliability

Big Easel Collective

Founder and Creative Director 

Big Easel Collective connects local New Orleans visual artists with commercial placemaking projects to craft memorable art installations. We specialize in sets that are rooted in place by crafting permanent transformations for retail experiences, museum activations, interiors, and public spaces that will wow visitors. We also do pop-up installations that are perfect for conferences, festivals, and events.

  • Co-designed, scheduled, and implemented eight immersive, site-specific art installations for commercial clients and residences alongside local artists, including a ceiling installation and projection-mapped murals

  • Managed all operations: business development, client relationships, pitch materials, invoicing, budgeting, legal, permitting, scheduling, marketing, social media, project management, and process documentation, including regular social media posts across various platforms

  • Sold out New Orleans Chamber luncheons presenting award-winning research, “Social Media in the Wild: Understanding and Leveraging the Experience Economy” and “Placemaking in the Wake of COVID-19” including engaging PowerPoint presentations with participatory feedback

A public-private partnership, New Orleans Business Alliance (NOLABA) is the official economic development agency for the City of New Orleans. As the city’s business community hub, NOLABA can help inform, educate and prepare business professionals and stakeholders to capitalize on the many opportunities New Orleans has to offer. Our vision is to reposition New Orleans as the next great American city for business investment, quality of life and economic opportunity. Our business model has four strategic initiatives that have an equity-based focus: small business services, strategic neighborhood development, business attraction & retention, and workforce development.

  • Spearheaded the first ever New Orleans Health Innovators Challenge, which attracts the top biotech companies from around the country to partner with our local healthcare institutions

  • Raised over $100,000 for the Challenge; garnered over 732,000 Twitter impressions promoting the application opportunity online

  • Led New Orleans Health Innovators Challenge, recruiting America’s top biotech companies to partner with six local healthcare institutions

    • Galvanized Ochsner Health System, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana, HCA Tulane, and Lafayette General Foundation to participate in the Challenge; added the New Orleans Health Department and University Medical Center in the second year. Developed a robust project management and communications framework to guide them through the Launch, Application, Judging, Finale Event, and Implementation phases.

  • Engaged over 225 unique startups and 119 influencers; drove a multi-platform social campaign resulting in over 750,000 digital impressions

    • Awarded Gold Medal of Excellence from the International Economic Development Council for this program’s success in business attraction and retention.

    • Crafted graphic design, website design, and application design for competition, including digital campaign and printed event materials

  • Implemented social media campaign for 504ward, including vibrant, visual weekly posts across various platforms and daily job features reaching over 15,000 young professionals

  • Worked with state, regional, and city leaders on events, community workshops, and policy initiatives, hosting four+ major monthly events, community workshops, and policy initiatives

Venture for America is a fellowship for recent grads who want to learn how to build a business while making an impact. VFA Fellows get training and join a startup in an emerging US city, where they live and work for two years at one of our partner companies. They learn hands-on what it takes to build a company, while getting the mentorship, network, and ongoing support to prepare themselves to become successful entrepreneurs. Design for America (DFA) is an award-winning nationwide network of interdisciplinary student teams and community members using design to create local and social impact. We use human-centered design as an approach to problem solving that emphasizes understanding people as a vital component to successful innovation. The Barnard-Columbia Studio innovates for problems ranging from female empowerment to natural disaster relief, from childhood obesity to early education.

  • Upgraded our innovative human-centered design curriculum for our social entrepreneurship studio to better solve problems in our local community with sustainable design solutions
